Charles Okpaleke, CEO of Play Network, has announced that his production studio is now working on an intriguing new gaming project starring comic characters Aki and Pawpaw.
The game, titled ‘Aki and Pawpaw Epic Run,’ will be accessible for Android and iOS users, according to Okpaleke.
“We are happy to announce that in line with our exclusive exploitation rights to the brand ‘Aki & PawPaw’, we are at the final stages of the first ever Nollywood Game, Aki & Paw Paw Epic Run, powered by @playnetworkafr and @playnetworkstudios. Available to download soon by all iOS and Android users,” the filmmaker wrote on Instagram.
Blueportal Software will create the new games, which will be available for free. The company also confirmed the relationship via Instagram:
“Blueportal software is pleased to announce that it has signed a mobile platform game development agreement with Playnetwork studios to develop the first of its kind video game based on the studio feature films, AKI and PAWPAW. The game will be free to play on iOS and android mobile devices.”
The latest achievement comes amid preparations to release a remake of the Nollywood comedy classic in theaters in December.
The Play Network and Filmone production, directed by Biodun Stephen, follows two naughty brothers as they strive to establish a life for themselves after accidentally becoming famous and wealthy thanks to social networking.
