‘Calm Down,’ a charming song by the gifted Afrobeats artist Rema, was recently revealed by Hollywood star Vin Diesel as his current favorite tune.
In an interview during the much-awaited Marvel Studios film “Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3″‘s European Gala, held in Paris, Diesel discussed his taste in music. On May 5, the second installment of the cherished film series will be released.
Diesel admitted that his daughter’s fondness of singing Calm Down around their house had a big impact on his decision when asked about his current favorite song.
“I have to say this. My daughter Pauline, who is eight years old runs around the house, going ‘Calm Down, Calm Down’. You know Rema?” he said.
Calm Down by Rema, which first appeared on his first album, “Rave and Roses,” in February 2022 as a single, swiftly rose to the top of the album’s track listing. Rema collaborated with Selena Gomez, a well-known US singer, to remix the well-known song in August of the same year.
Millions of people have listened to “Calm Down” since it was released, which has increased its popularity greatly. Rema has received more praise and exposure in the music business as a result of the song’s popularity, which has been attributed to its infectious beats, fascinating lyrics, and collaboration with Selena Gomez.
Calm Down not only achieved economic success but also set a record by being the highest-charting Afrobeats song on the renowned Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Barack Obama, a former US president, also took notice of the song and included it among his favorite songs of 2022. The song’s vast appeal and cultural importance are attested to by this acknowledgment from such a significant figure in the political and cultural realm, further establishing Rema’s standing as a rising star in the music industry.
