Austin “Jay Jay” Okocha, a legendary Super Eagles player and former captain, and his wife Nkechi recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
To commemorate their silver wedding anniversary, the 49-year-old former attacking midfielder uploaded a snapshot of himself and his wife.
On her Instagram story, their daughter Daniella also wished them luck. She commented, “Happy 25th anniversary to my favorites.”
Ajay and Daniella, the couple’s two children, were born in 1997 after their marriage.
The retired Nigerian professional football player was an attacking midfielder, according to his Wikipedia page. He played in 73 games and scored 14 goals for the Nigerian national team between 1993 and 2006.
He also played for three different FIFA World Cup squads. One of Africa’s best football players, according to many.
Before moving to Borussia Neunkirchen in the Oberliga Südwest, Germany’s third level, in July 1990, he began his playing career with Enugu Rangers in the Nigerian Professional Football League.
He played in the Qatar Stars League, English Premier League, English Super Lig, French Ligue 1, German Bundesliga, Turkish Super Lig, and English Premier League until quitting in 2008.
