The series has been renewed for the ninth season.

The trailer shows The Flash (Grant Gustin) speeding through Central City with the gold boots given to him by Chester P. Runk (Brandon McKnight).
Frost (Danielle Panabaker) is also seen with Caitlin Snow’s mother, Dr. Tannhauser, in the trailer. Frost and Caitlin used to share the same body, but during the seventh season, they split up into two different persons, and when Tannhauser asks Frost whether it’s natural for her to be a hero, she responds with “I’m not sure what to say. It’s a way of life.” After that, Barry gives a speech about how Team Flash is a family and that anyone who attempts to harm a member of their family will be stopped.
Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy), Barry and Iris West-(Candice Allen’s Patton) future daughter, comforts Barry about how everyone loses trust in themselves at times. Nora and her brother Bart (Jordan Fisher) have traveled back in time to join forces with the Flash as XS and Impulse on several occasions. Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) finishes the trailer by asking Barry to believe himself and run into the unknown.
On November 16, The Flash’s eighth season debuted. The series was renewed for a ninth season earlier this month, making it the longest-running show in The CW’s Arrowverse, surpassing Arrow, which ended after eight seasons.
