Tems & Wizkid win 2022 AMA Awards [See Full Winners List] 

The 2022 American Music Awards’ inaugural Afrobeats category was won by Nigerian superstar Wizkid.

At the 2022 American Music Awards, Wizkid was among the first nominees for Favorite Afrobeats Artist. Along with Fireboy, Burna Boy, CKay, Tems, and Tems who all had significant success in the US during the year under review, he was nominated.

The song “Essence” by Wizkid, Tems, and Justin Bieber defeated stiff opposition to win the Favorite R&B Award.

Tems also took up two awards: Favorite R&B for “Essence” and Favorite Hip Hop for her work on Future’s “Wait For U.”
