Olamide established the YBNL record label in 2012.

Olamide Baddo has provided an explanation of his thinking for recruiting musicians to his record label, including Fireboy DML, Asake, and others.
The YBNL president asserted that he decided to sign new musicians after realizing he had amassed so much money that he was unsure what to do with it.
The rapper insisted that supporting upcoming musicians in achieving their dreams of being well-known was his way of giving back to the community.
Baddo said, “I just started stacking up money and the money was becoming too much for me. I was like, ‘Yo, I don’t have anything to do with this money. I need to sign new guys. Let me spend money on people. You know it is just like my own way of giving back to society.”
Olamide has helped several successful musicians, like Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh, Fireboy DML Asake, and others, in developing their musical careers.
In 2012, Olamide established Yahoo Boy No Laptop Nation, popularly known as YBNL Nation or just YBNL.
