Tinubu further vowed that his government would work hard to create a favorable climate for both domestic and global companies.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said that Nigeria is open to commerce and forming mutually beneficial alliances with interested countries.
Tinubu said this while meeting with a Chinese government team at the State House in Abuja on the evening of Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
The delegation, headed by Special Envoy Peng Qinghua, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, arrived at the request of President Xi Jinping.
The President restated his pledge that his government will work tirelessly to improve the ease of doing business in a statement published by his media adviser, Tunde Rahman.
He said, “We need accelerated growth and we are ready to do business honestly with those ready to do business with us.
“We will continue to work to promote democracy in the West African sub-region. I’m a product of democracy and shall work day and night to advance democracy.
“We will fight terrorism and all forms of criminality. We can learn from each other, but we will remain non-aligned.”
The Chinese President, speaking via his Special Envoy, offered further economic cooperation with Nigeria, noting that the West African nation remained crucial to Africa and the globe.
Qinghua said that the two nations have a solid bilateral and economic relationship and that Chinese firms are doing well in Nigeria in areas such as railroads, roads, hydropower, and free trade zones.
Even as he praised Tinubu’s proposal to lead Nigeria into a new age of economic progress and prosperity, China’s Special Envoy stated there are areas where Nigeria could learn from China.
Cui Jianchun, her Ambassador to Nigeria, and Minister-Counselor Zhang Yi were among the Chinese delegation members.
