The newly appointed commissioners in Enugu State have committed to work tirelessly to bring Governor Peter Mbah’s vision for the people of the state to fulfilment.
In separate interviews with journalists following their inauguration on Thursday in Enugu, the commissioners stated that they were eager to get to work on implementing Mbah’s objectives and programmes for the state.
Mr Aka Eze Aka, a journalist, said he was looking forward to whatever portfolio the governor assigned to him and was prepared to manage it with complete commitment, dedication, and friendship. Aka emphasised the importance of ongoing interaction between the administration and the people in order to bring the state forward.
He claimed that Mbah’s government was unique in that it implemented reforms that placed people first. While praising Mbah for elevating him from nowhere to the position of commissioner, Aka said, “I want to thank him immensely because nobody asked him to choose me.”
Another commissioner, Emeka Ajogwu, stated that they would collaborate with the governor to ensure that the policies and objectives outlined in Mbah’s platform were implemented. He stated that he was confidence in Governor Mbah’s abilities to direct the state’s ship to a safe landing.
Ajogwu stated that he wants the government to make a substantial impact on reducing young unemployment and engaging them in agriculture and agribusiness.
Another commissioner, Sam Ugwu, thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve and stated that he would carry out his obligations with integrity, transparency, and all of his efforts to realise Mbah’s vision for the people of Enugu.
“We haven’t been given portfolios, but my goal is to make sure people are happy with what we’re doing,” he explained.
Mrs. Ugochi Madueke noted that she will replicate her efforts to revamp the Nike Lake Resort Hotel in Enugu in any portfolio entrusted to her. Nike Lake, according to her, was a dormant hotel that she transformed with the help of the state government.
