Mohbad, the street-pop superstar, has returned with a new EP titled “Blessed.”
By Omotayo Olutekunbi
After winning over music fans with his first EP and igniting the Nigerian music industry with the viral hit ‘KPK,’ Mohbad is back with a vengeance, eager to push his talent to new heights.
The gifted singer and rapper is overjoyed to announce the release of his eagerly awaited sophomore EP, fittingly named ‘Blessed.’
Mohbad’s first EP was a strong introduction to his enormous skill and craftsmanship. Mohbad catapulted to prominence with ‘KPK,’ his collaboration with producer Rexxie, capturing audiences and establishing himself as an artist to watch. He has continuously delivered back-to-back hits since then, displaying glimpses of his experiences and evolution as an artist.
‘Blessed’ has Mohbad’s distinctive introspective and soulful voice.
The EP perfectly integrates infectious melodies with his mastery of street music, resulting in a distinct sound that sets him apart from his contemporaries.
Mohbad’s baritone voice is intriguing and enticing, easily bringing listeners into his funky tracks while underlining street realities.
Mohbad offers a realistic picture of his journey in ‘Blessed,’ demonstrating his capacity to overcome obstacles and emerge as a better version of himself. His self-consciousness, commanding swagger, and profound awareness of his musical traditions add to the EP’s allure.
Mohbad expertly weaves fuji percussions together, demonstrating his grasp of their progressions, and produces verses that immediately impact any listener.
