Lagos belongs to no individual, according to Labour Party supporters, according to Musiliu Akinsanya, the chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), popularly known as Mc Oluomo.
The adage “Lagos is No Man’s Land” has been quite prevalent on social media, especially in the aftermath of the recently held gubernatorial elections in Lagos, which were won by the current governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
In the midst of his victory celebrations, MC Oluomo called Obidients “Obidiots” in reference to the current governor of Lagos State’s alleged triumph. The chairman shared a song in Yoruba that roughly translates to, “They are fooling themselves if they think they can steal our territory,
Sharing the video, he captioned it, “Hope the Obidiots believe now that Lagos belongs to the Yoruba, and they’re now facing the consequences of Lagos being no man’s land.”
Prior to that, he issued a harsh warning to anybody planning to support a party other than the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state’s gubernatorial and state legislature elections on March 18, 2023.
His speech is roughly translated as follows, “We’ve appealed to them, if they won’t vote for us, it’s nothing to fight over. Kindly go and meet them and say Iya Chukwudi, please if you don’t want to vote for us, please sit down at home.”
