As Naija Star Search gets underway, trainers Kenny Ogungbe, ID Cabasa, and Asha Gangali will compete against one another on the group stage.
With some game twists being unknown, each coach will be given a contestant.
The game is therefore full of drama, fierce competitiveness, and passion in addition to the participants’ spectacular performances since the game’s twists provoke conflicting feelings in the audience.
The program will be a mix of musical performances and a window into the performers’ off-stage life, according to a game flow revealed by the organizers.
According to a post on the Naija Star Search social media accounts, @naijastarsearch, the game flow is as follows: the Group Stage Competition will feature 3 teams led by the 3 Judges; the Pair Battle will feature 12 contestants performing in pairs; the Solo Performances will feature eight contestants, and the Final 3 will compete for the N10,000,000 top prize and other prizes.
Three teams are created in the Group Stage, and five contestants are eliminated in three episodes. The team with the lowest score after each performance will be placed on probation based on audience votes.
The team members on probation will then propose eviction candidates for their teammates.
The remaining twelve competitors will be divided into six teams of two each for the Pair Battle, the following round.
Which four candidates are eliminated will be determined by the judges. The judges will also determine who is eliminated from the solo performances, where there will be five evictions.
The final show will include four contestants—three finalists and one participant who was rescued by public votes. USSD will be used for the audience’s voting.
Every Sunday at 8 p.m., Naija Star Search is broadcast on the ST Nollywood Plus, ST Nollywood, and ST Yoruba channels on StarTimes.
Afrobeats superstars of the future are to be found on the reality program Naija Star Search.
The judges claim that the Naija Star Search show is apart from other music reality shows since it only focuses on Afrobeats, a catchall phrase for all types of songs with Nigerian origins.
In a media interview, Mr. Ogungbe stated that he and the other judges would be on the lookout for authenticity, potential, originality, and street credibility among the contestants. He also stated that the Kennis Music label would develop the top seven finalists from the competition and provide them with a platform to develop their undeveloped talents into superstars.
