He called the announcement of the new EFCC chairmanship what it was.

Hakeem Odumosu, a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), has denied being appointed as the substantive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
On Tuesday, June 20, 2023, speculation over Odumosu’s claimed nomination began, with sources claiming that his confirmation would be subject to Senate approval.
This comes after President Bola Tinubu, the former EFCC chairman, was suspended for misbehavior during his term. As a result, the Department of State Services (DSS) summoned Ibrahim Bawa, the now-suspended chairman, for inquiry.
On Wednesday, June 21, Odumosu published a statement emphatically rejecting any knowledge of his alleged appointment. In the statement, he termed the spreading story “false” and urged Nigerians to reject it.
“Good Morning, everyone,” Odumosu began in his statement, “I have been inundated with so many calls and messages between yesterday and today on a purported ‘EFCC Appointment.’ I just want to use this opportunity to debunk this information and say it’s totally untrue.”
