Dangote Reduces Diesel Price to 1000 per Litre

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of diesel from 1,200 Naira to 1,000 naira per litre.

Chairman of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, said that his refinery’s capacity to sell diesel at greatly reduced prices would offer immediate relief to Nigeria’s inflation challenges.

Dangote recently discussed the effects of the reduced cost, saying, “And you can see quite a lot of things have actually gone up.” Even now, you will pay more when you go to the market for something that we manufacture locally, like flour or something else. Why? due to the extremely high costs they pay for diesel.

“In the long run, I think people won’t see crude prices much higher than they do now, despite the fact that they are rising.

As it happens, such may help to quickly lower inflation. And I’m sure you’ll notice that the inflation rate has improved significantly when the data for the following month’s inflation are released.

“So one step at a time. And I’m sure the government is working around the clock to make sure that things get much better.

“Because it’s in their own interest. It’s in the interest of everybody, It’s in our own interest, and I just want to thank everybody for the Nigerians to get things better.”
