‘Chief Daddy: Going for Broke,’ a comedy sequel from EbonyLife Studios, is finally poised to hit theaters. The picture, which was previously confirmed as a Netflix Original, will now debut on January 1, 2022.
EbonyLife CEO Mo Abudu confirmed the film’s release date on Instagram, writing:
“Come January 1st 2022, the Beecrofts are returning with more family drama, more secrets, more laughs and even more fun and entertainment.”
Recall that Netflix greenlit the sequel for the 2018 smash movie back in June 2020.” However, with Niyi Akinmolayan as director, production began in May 2021.
Despite the fact that plot details have remained scarce, all signs point to the Beecrofts’ fate after learning of the will.
The family comedy, starring Funke Akindele-Bello, Nkem Owoh, Patience Ozokwo, Zainab Balogun, Shaffy Bello, Ini Edo, Dakore Akande, Falz, Rachel Oniga, and Linda Iheoma Ejiofor, follows the dysfunctional Beecroft family as they try to navigate life after their patriarch’s sudden death.
Filming for ‘Chief Daddy: Going for Broke’ took place in Lagos and the United Arab Emirates.
