Nigerian Actress Bolaji Ogunmola Ventures into Film Production with ‘Anjola’ Feature Film. The movie depicts the lives of a married couple whose love is tested during a pivotal night, where conflicting desires emerge—one longing for a natural conception, while the other questions the boundaries of belief.
Bolaji Ogunmola, the lead actress in the film, expressed her commitment to the project in an exclusive interview with Shock.Ng. She revealed her deep emotional involvement, describing the challenges faced while portraying the character Anjola. Despite the difficulties, she believes they did justice to telling Anjola’s story.
Directed by Valentine Edochie, the film features an all-star cast, including Femi Jacobs, Bimbo Akintola, Jude Chukuwa, and Elozonam Ogbolu. The writer, Mannie Oiseomaye, mentioned that the story took a year to develop and emphasized its significance. The speaker emphasized the significance of the story being told, highlighting the universal pain experienced by women under the pressure to become mothers.
While no release date has been disclosed, the feature film is set to premiere at festivals before its public debut on a streaming platform. “Anjola,” exploring themes like motherhood, depression, love, pain, support, and patience, aims to convey a powerful message about the challenges of childbearing.
