The trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water has finally arrived, transporting us to the stunning landscapes of the exotic planet Pandora after more than a decade of anticipation. The first of four new films based in the fascinating eco-friendly universe created by visionary director James Cameron, the highly anticipated sequel is intended to extend the mythology that the visionary filmmaker merely scratched the surface of in the initial 2009 release.
The teaser reintroduces Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) fourteen years after the events of the previous film, when the human adventurer elected to remain eternally bound in the body of a blue alien. Jake and Neytiri are now the delighted parents of a little blue boy. However, peace on Pandora will not last, as humans return to afflict the planet, resulting in a fresh conflict between the invading race and the original inhabitants of Pandora. The teaser also emphasises how the sequel is all about a new generation, placing Jake and Neytiri’s son in the limelight and making him the protagonist of a fresh journey.
Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, CCH Pounder, and Matt Gerald all return in The Way of Water. Sigourney Weaver is also expected to return, but in a different capacity. Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Brendan Cowell, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, Oona Chaplin, Vin Diesel, and CJ Jones are among the new cast members for Avatar: The Way of Water. Cameron collaborated with Josh Friedman on the writing for Avatar: The Way of Water. Cameron is also producing the sequel alongside Jon Landau, who co-wrote the previous installment’s script.
