The much-awaited awards gala night on Sunday, October 30, brought the 18th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards to a triumphant end.
The event, which was historic, was hosted by Funnybone, Chigul, and Kachi Offia. Nigeria led with eight victories, followed by Tanzania and South Africa with four each.
Together with South Africa’s “Surviving Gaza,” which also received four prizes, Tanzania’s “Tug of War” was the night’s largest winner after taking home three other trophies in addition to the Best Film Award.
Borga from Ghana came in second place with three prizes. Both “Man of God” by Bolanle Austen Peters and “Swallow,” Kunle Afolayan’s Netflix adaption, won two prizes each for Nigeria.
