NYSC Loses Two Corps Members In Kano 

Two corps members died in Kano State during the 2021/2022 service year, according to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Hajiya Aisha Tata-Mohammed, the NYSC State Coordinator, made the announcement at the passing-out parade of 1, 936 Batch “A” Stream II Corps members in Kano on Thursday.

She stated that two corps members died during their service year, and that 12 others had their service year extended due to rules and regulations violations.

Muhammad praised the state administration and the people of the state for providing moral support to the corps members while they served in the state.

She did, however, write to the state governor, requesting that state government subsidies for corps members serving in the state be reinstated.

“The gesture if accomplished will go a long way in motivating the corps members to redouble their efforts towards serving their fatherland with diligence and enthusiasm,” she said.

The Coordinator, while repeating his commitment to work with the state administration in all areas of need, urged for the provision of housing for corps members stationed in the state’s 44 local government districts.

She asked the corps members to put their service year talents to good use and be excellent ambassadors for the country.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje said the state has benefited from the Corps members’ hard work and selfless commitment since the scheme’s commencement.

Ganduje, who was accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, said the corps members will be remembered by the state’s wonderful people.

Prof. Abdu Salihi, Chairman of the state’s NYSC Governing Board, had earlier urged corps members to work hard to strengthen the connection of unity built with the people of the state.

He recommended the Corps members to put their newfound abilities to good use and go into business for themselves.
