Davido, a household name in Nigeria, has achieved another milestone by selling more than a million copies of his famous song “FALL” in the US.

The Plug, a music distribution, and talent management firm, said on Friday, January 20, 2023, that Davido’s 2017 hit song “FALL” has sold over a million records and received an RIAA platinum plaque.
The song, which renowned music producer Kiddominant created, is the second in a string of four great hits from 2017—”IF,” “FALL,” “Like That,” and “FIA”—that have gained popularity both in the UK and the US.
‘FALL’ is one of the tracks credited with opening the doors for Afrobeats’ commercial success in the United States when the genre first started making worldwide headlines.
Davido has made a name for himself as one of the most popular musicians in the world by bringing attention to Africa via his music. He created history in 2022 when he appeared in the official FIFA 2022 World Cup anthem for Qatar.
With his platinum award, Davido will become the fifth Nigerian musician to get an RIAA platinum plaque, after CKay, Tems, Burna Boy, and Wizkid.
