The Afrobeats Street phenomenon Portable announced his goal to win the Grammys.
By Omotayo Olutekunbi
Portable has become one of Nigeria’s most talked about celebrities since emerging into the public due to his many news-making exploits and lifestyle.
Portable received the Golden Star Artist of the Year award on Monday, June 19, 2023, for his accomplishments in the preceding year.
Portable remarked that after winning the Golden Star honors, his next order of business was to bring home the Grammys.
“I collect Golden Stars Award, I go collect Grammy come home.”
While nothing is known about the Golden Star Awards and how Portable became their artist of the year, the accolade has fueled Portable’s determination to push his career to new heights and bring home the ultimate prize in music.
Portable has hardly been out of the spotlight since coming into the limelight in late 2021 with his breakthrough track ‘Zazzu,’ which featured megastar Olamide and Poco Lee.
He had the opportunity to win his first Headies awards in 2022 when he was nominated for Best Street Hop and Rookie of the Year. Still, he was disqualified after threatening to hurt other contenders if he lost the prize and physically attacking DJ Chicken.
