The multi-talented composer and musician have charmed fans with her skills since her entrance into the Nigerian music industry, and she is being recognized this month as Spotify’s EQUAL Africa ambassador for June.
Qing Madi, born Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma, has dedicated her life to music, and her creative talent was clear when she began her career at the age of seven.
She released ‘See Finish’ at 16, a song showcasing her skills and establishing her as an emerging artist.
The dynamic Nigerian prodigy is defining the future of music with her unique genre-bending combination of Afrobeats, Pop, Soul, and R&B, heavily inspired by her cultural heritage and Kendrick Lamar’s poetic compositions.
When her song ‘See Finish’ went viral on social media and captured listeners’ attention, she took the Nigerian music business by storm. While Qing Madi is working on her first EP, she released a follow-up single, ‘Why,’ which displayed her genre-blending talent by combining silky R&B vocal texture, Dancehall cadence, and Afrobeats melodies and lyrics to produce an addictive song.
Qing Madi joins Tiwa Savage, Ayra Starr, Asa, and FAVE as part of the EQUAL Africa initiative, which strives to highlight and elevate the voices of exceptional female musicians making waves in the music landscape. Furthermore, it broadens its audience by presenting its collection worldwide.
With more young female musicians emerging into the mainstream, such as Ayra Starr, FAVE, Ria Sean, and Bloody Civilian, Qing Madi is poised to be the next young female superstar to promote her music to a larger audience, and Spotify is going to help her achieve her objective via its EQUAL Africa Program.
