Pheelz, a multi-instrumentalist, producer, singer, and songwriter from Nigeria, returns with the soaring floor-filler “YOLO.”
By Omotayo Olutekunbi
‘YOLO’ is an engaging Afrobeats hit with a strong message and an enthralling mood after his critically acclaimed 2023 EP, ‘Pheelz Good.
The hitmaker sings, “I’m chillin’ with the vibe, let me go go go,” over a sea of percussion and backing choral music. We only have one life, and I believe in YOLO, which sets up the upbeat chorus.
Another catchy song with broad appeal is the consequence of Pheelz’s silky smooth voice riding the hip-swinging beats with ease. The feel-good vibe of the song is represented in the video, which shows Pheelz having a wonderful time with his pals while enjoying the little things in life, like blow-up pools, bus journeys, and midnight drives.
Pheelz Good has already accumulated more than 100 million streams. The 8-song collection, which contains appearances by Davido (on “Electricity”) and BNXN (on “Finesse”), skilfully combines Afrobeats bangers with tracks based in melodic R&B. All of these songs highlight the young star’s brilliant range and her bright future.
