Spotify commemorates the rebranding of African Heat, its flagship African music playlist highlighting some of the continent’s hottest songs since its inception in 2017.

To commemorate the renaming of the playlist, Spotify invited creators, influencers, the media, and music fans to get in on the heat during an interactive event in Lagos, Nigeria, called #AfricanHeatParty.
Spotify warmly greeted guests whose electrifying enthusiasm lighted up the space at the event, which was hosted at NextThought Production Studios in Lagos.
Jess Jess Finesse enthralled the audience with her amazing hosting abilities as the celebration started. The first pair of DJs, Wanni X Hanni, hit the stage after her performance and successfully kept the crowd dancing.
Soon after, one of Nigeria’s most popular musicians, ODUMODUBLVCK, energized the crowd with his performance. He performed favorites that were well-liked by the audience, such as “Picanto” and “Declan Rice,” and he even invited Smada on stage to play their most recent collaboration, “PAPILO.”
The celebration continued to have great energy as the night went on, thanks to Teni’s appearance and demonstration of her flair. The crowd was tremendously pleased by her unique performance, which included some of her most popular songs, such as “Power Rangers” and “Case,” before ending with her most recent hit, “No Days Off.”
Known producer and DJ Sarz, whose particular sounds and mixing techniques captivated the audience, helped Spotify raise the heat even further. Soon after, one of the best in the business, DJ TOHBAD, gave an incredible set that further improved the party mood.
Joeboy entered the stage to bring the evening to a stunning conclusion, thrilling the audience with popular hits, including “Call,” “Baby,” and his most recent smash, “Duffle Bag.”
The occasion confirmed African Heat’s position as the leading center for African music and culture. Additionally, it demonstrated Spotify’s dedication to actively supporting African musicians and promoting the next great musical moment.
