Mr Wellington defeated Mr Aiboni, a Lagos businessman, with 27 votes to two in the first round.

The Peoples Democratic Party’s primary election rerun in Eti-Osa Federal Constituency, Lagos, was won by Bankole Wellington, also known as Banky W.
Mr Wellington received 24 votes, while his competitor, Sam Aiboni, received only five votes.
After the first primary was cancelled last month, a repeat was set for today. Since joining the major opposition party earlier this year, the singer has been viewed as a favourite to win the ticket.
After a conflict between Messrs Wellington and Aiboni forced the party’s leadership to intervene from Abuja, the primary was postponed. Following that, it was agreed that a repeat would be held.
