Former Niger Delta militant leader Asari Dokubo has expressed his dissatisfaction with the recent appointments made by President Bola Tinubu.
Dokubo responded to Sheikh Gumi’s call to remove Nyesom Wike as the minister of the Federal Capital Territory. In a widely circulated video, Dokubo expressed concerns, highlighting that Abuja, funded mainly by oil money from non-northern regions, was originally meant to be a neutral ground for all ethnic groups.
Dokubo criticized President Tinubu’s appointments, expressing frustration over the bias, favoring Lagos, and neglecting national diversity. He emphasized supporting Tinubu for his achievements, not religious beliefs, and decried the appointments’ one-sided nature, stating they made Nigeria seem solely focused on Lagos.
Dokubo criticized the “Muslim-Muslim ticket” appointments, emphasizing that they didn’t align with voters’ expectations. He called on the president to reconsider, stressing the importance of balanced representation across regions and religions in a diverse nation like Nigeria.
Dokubo passionately urged for appointments that reflect the nation’s diversity, opposing favoritism towards any specific group or region.
