Spotlight Concert & Award announces a Sing/Rap competition for aspiring musicians.
By Omotayo Olutekunbi
The Sing/Rap is an online music competition that allows young musicians to demonstrate their flexibility while competing for a chance to earn a grand prize worth over N1 million at an award event in April 2022.
The 1-minute competition instrumental may be downloaded at https://spotlightawards.ng/singandrap/. These are the stages that contestants must do.
Step 1 – Record a video of yourself singing/rapping to the 1 minute instrumental.
Step 2 – Upload the recorded video to your Instagram page and tag @spotligthconcert using the hashtags, #spotlightconcert2022 and #ownyoursound.
Step 3 – Share the video to increase your chances of getting selected for the regional auditions.
Step 4 – Upload the posted video to Spotlight’s website.
The contestants will be judged on their inventiveness as well as the quality and technicality of their sound. The competition is open to any Nigerian artists between the ages of 16 and 35.
The competition is a logical continuation of the Spotlight Concert & Award, according to Olumide Asanbe, Head of Asanbe Music, to nurture and equip the next generation of Africa’s music superstars.
