IPOB claims that Chief Nwodo has lost importance in the affairs of Ndigbo and Nigeria.
By Omotayo Olutekunbi
IPoB has accused Chief John Nwodo, the former President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, of making false charges against the organization over recent assaults in the South-East.
Nwodo is said to have urged IPoB to cease killing Igbo people, but the organization responded by demanding proof that it was involved in all of the killings in Anambra and Imo states.
Since his departure as President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, IPOB claims that Chief Nwodo has lost importance in the affairs of Ndigbo and Nigeria.
IPoB urged the former Ohanaeze boss to explain if it was IPOB that killed Dr Chike Akunyili and attacked the convoy of Chris Azubogu, the lawmaker representing Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, in a statement released by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful.
“We are the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, ably led by our great leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,” the statement says. Our attention has been directed to Chief John Nnia Nwodo’s erroneous comments urging IPOB to cease killing our people.
“We see this statement as that of a drowning man who wants to grab anything to stay afloat. Nnia Nwodo is only seeking relevance and feels the only way to get relevance, is to make statements and attack IPOB.
“He has come again. Nwodo should not forget what he did against IPOB when he was President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo’’.
