The actor who plays King T’Challa in the movie “Black Panther,” Winston Duke, or M’baku as some prefer to refer to him, has made a suggestion that the role may return, but this time with a different actor.
Duke predicted that “Black Panther” will eventually be remade and that a different actor would take the role of T’Challa. He made this prediction in an interview with Esquire.
“There’s no way they’ll never remake Black Panther in the future,” Duke said. “There’s no way that the saga and interpretation of T’Challa, King of Wakanda, will end. He is canon. So trust that it’ll come, But allow this to be a human experience.”
This announcement is the result of irritation with Marvel Cinematic Universe fans who openly asked Marvel Studios to replace Chadwick Boseman’s role on Change.org after the first sequel previews were posted in July.
When asked why some fans “center their own desire for a character,” Duke told the media that they “center their own need for a character when none of this would be possible if the people who brought this to life didn’t participate, from behind the scenes to in front of it.”
Prior to the release of Wakanda Forever, Duke, who played M’Baku in the Black Panther movie series, spoke about his feelings following the death of Boseman. During a viewing of the movie in New York City, the actor expressed sympathy for the sadness experienced by Chadwick Boseman’s wife as a result of his mother’s passing.
