Nigerian media personality Toyosi Etim-Effiong has been appointed to the advisory board of MWANKOM, the company behind the newly launched Rolling Stone Africa.

With ten years of accomplishments under her belt and a resolute dedication to promoting Nigerian cinema across the globe, Toyosi Etim-Effiong is an outstanding personality in the media.

“Proud to be a part of @RollingStoneAfrica, brainchild of @MWANKOMgram whose board I sit on. It’s important to me that our stories retain their authenticity even as they travel to the ends of the earth and #RollingStoneAfrica captures that! Cheers to US??,” Toyosi posted on her social media.

Rolling Stone and MWANKOM Group partnered to launch Rolling Stone Africa in London on June 26, 2024. The goal of this new endeavour is to showcase the vibrant music, stories, and cultures of Africa. Rolling Stone CEO Gus Wenner expressed enthusiasm for the growth and the chance to engage with Africa’s vibrant cultural landscape.

Under the direction of CEO D. Romuald Bellegarde-Smeralda, MWANKOM Group is committed to advancing Afro content in a variety of fields, such as technology, business, and culture. Through their association with Rolling Stone, a worldwide audience will have access to excellent coverage and insights from Africa.

She is also the creative force behind That Good Media, a Lagos-based media solutions company that specialises in international strategic alliances and talent management for the Nigerian film and television industries.

She spearheads the effort to link Nollywood with the international film and television industry, particularly Hollywood, through That Good Media. As an advocate for cross-cultural collaboration, Toyosi has been instrumental in establishing alliances between Nollywood and the global cinema industry, particularly Hollywood.

She was instrumental in getting Hollywood recognition and an invitation to the Multichoice-hosted Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards in Lagos in 2022.

Remarkably, she has collaborated with the Essence Film Festival, which is a part of the bigger, renowned Essence Festival of Culture, for the past three years, presenting the finest of Nollywood to an international audience. This continuing partnership demonstrates Toyosi’s commitment to provide African views with a global platform.

Congratulations to Toyosi on this new role!
