The actor might be the first non-military person to shoot a movie in space, perhaps another blockbuster.

It appears that planning has begun in earnest two years after NASA acknowledged a potential partnership with SpaceX and Hollywood actor Tom Cruise.
A spacewalk for the Mission Impossible actor is reportedly in the works, according to a BBC story from Universal Films Entertainment Group chairman Donna Langley.
While it is based on Earth, Langley explained the idea, saying that Cruise would give fans a first-of-its-kind Hollywood non-CGI designed to gaze at space.
“It actually takes place on earth, and then the character needs to go up to space to save the day,” the film executive shared. “Tom Cruise is taking us to space. He’s taking the world to space. That’s the plan.”
Remember when NASA announced a potential partnership with the actor on a movie project in May 2020? A probable connection between the two claims is suggested by Langley’s statement, which also states that Cruise and filmmaker Doug Liman presented the plot during the epidemic.
The theatrical premiere of Cruise’s 2022 film Top Gun: Maverick, which allegedly brought in $1.454 billion at the box office, was a huge success.
