Toke Makinwa, a media personality, had some of her possessions stolen in London.
On November 26, 2022, in North Yorkshire, England, she attended the white wedding of actress Rita Dominic and her husband, Fidelis Anosike.
The media celebrity revealed that she had been robbed on her Snapchat story three days after the wedding.
She said that robbers had stolen her possessions. She professed to be incoherent and to be wondering how such a thing could have occurred to her.
She wrote: “Just got robbed in London… I’m speechless. All my valuables are gone. Gosh how could this happen to me.”
Makinwa is the most recent famous Nigerian to lament having their belongings stolen abroad.
Yemi Alade, an Afrocentric artist, was recently robbed while performing in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
On Instagram, she described the horrible incident in which burglars broke into her hotel room, searched through her stuff, and grabbed all the cash they could find.
“A few minutes after I left my room, some unknown people decided to go through my things and steal all the money they could find. Very good,” she wrote.
At the Creative Africa Nexus event, which also featured well-known people like Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Genevieve Nnaji, who made her first public appearance in months, Alade was there.
