Jerry Springer, a widely regarded and divisive figure in US television history, has officially passed away.

After fighting pancreatic illness, the host of the well-known talk program “The Jerry Springer Show,” which ran for 27 years and featured provocative guests and violent altercations, passed away quietly on Thursday morning at his home in the Chicago region. It was detected a few months ago, according to TMZ’s source.

However, a family representative claimed that Jerry had been enduring a transient illness.

Jerry Springer was a former politician before becoming famous for his TV program. He campaigned for the US Congress in 1970, was elected to the Cincinnati City Council in 1971, and then held the office of mayor of the city for one term in 1977.

Jerry’s program began as a political talk show in 1991 with an emphasis on current events, but it soon evolved into a hugely successful and erratic discussion show that, by the late 1990s, even outperformed Oprah Winfrey’s show in certain areas. ‘Springer’ concluded in 2018 after 27 years on the air, and was succeeded by ‘Judge Jerry,’ Jerry’s three-season courtroom drama.

He is survived by his daughter, Katie Springer, and his older sister, Evelyn.

May his soul rest in Peace.
