The two nominations given to emerging Afrobeats artist Portable by the Headies Academy have been withdrawn, according to the academy.

The decision of The Headies Academy was brought about by Portable’s recent legal maneuvering in which he said that he is the leader of the violent One Million Boys gang that tormented Lagos residents during the lockdown.
After receiving harsh criticism and sparking an inquiry by the police, Portable would eventually deny this assertion.
In the past, Portable has vowed to murder other candidates if he doesn’t win either of the two categories for which he was nominated.
Portable won’t have the opportunity to win the Rookie of the Year and Best Street Hop awards, for which he was nominated, as a result of the Headies Academy’s decision to withdraw his candidacy.
