Nigerian-American Artist’s Single Becomes #1 Best Selling Song in US

Collins Obinna Chibueze, also known as Shaboozey, a Nigerian-American singer, has broken another set of records in the United States with his hit song ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy).’

According to music monitoring company Chart Data, the song has officially become the most streamed song in the United States in 2024.

It surpassed Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ & Benson Boone’s ‘Beautiful Things’ to become the best selling song in America this year.

‘Tipsy’ has also become the longest running #1 single of 2024 on the Hot 100 (7 weeks).

It surpassed ‘I Had Some Help’ by Post Malone and Morgan Wallen.

Earlier in July, Shaboozey joined Beyoncé as the only Black artist to simultaneously top the Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts.

His song ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ dethroned Beyoncé’s ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ as the top hit on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart this week.

It also marks the first time in history that two Black artists have topped the charts consecutively.
