Until the bail terms are met, the defendant will be released to his defense counsel for two weeks.

On Monday, March 28, 2022, an Ikeja Special Offences Court lowered the bail amount for social media celebrity Ismaila Mustapha (alias Mompha), who was accused with N6 billion money laundering, from N200 million to N25 million.
Following a prayer by defence counsel Mr Gboyega Oyewole (SAN) and a submission by prosecution counsel Mr Rotimi Oyedepo, Justice Mojisola Dada issued the ruling.
Dada had granted Mompha bail in the amount of N200 million with two sureties on January 18, 2022.
She did, however, hold on Monday, “The defendant is admitted to a bail of N25 million with two sureties in like sum.
“One of the sureties must have a landed property worth N50 million within the court’s jurisdiction.
“The defendant shall be temporarily released to defence counsel only for two weeks pending the perfection of the bail conditions.
“Defence counsel should also write an undertaking to that effect.”
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) re-arrested Mompha in January 2022 on suspicion of money laundering.
The committee accuses the well-known socialite of laundering and maintaining proceeds of crime earned through illegal operations.
