Nollywood producers and former partners, Funke Akindele and JJC Skillz, were recently seen at the premiere of their movie “She Must Be Obeyed,” where they exchanged warm hugs and danced together, showcasing their amicable relationship.
Videos from the event depicted the ex-couple sharing a joyful time at the premiere of their jointly directed and produced movie, which was released prior to their divorce in June 2022.
As they spotted each other, they enthusiastically exchanged greetings and danced together, all while sporting radiant smiles. Their brief but heartwarming interaction was a source of delight for those in attendance and their online fans alike.
Akindele and Abdulrasheed Bello shared their marital vows from 2016 to 2022. During their union, they appeared inseparable, often seen basking in their public display of affection.
In 2018, they joyfully welcomed a pair of twin boys, though these children were mostly shielded from the limelight. It wasn’t until their marriage began to have issues that glimpses of their twins in the public eye became more apparent.
Both Bello and Akindele had previous marriages and were separated before coming together. Bello had a son named Benito from his previous marriage, who took to social media to reveal the cracks in Akindele’s marriage to his father, creating a public stir.
After initial damage control efforts, Bello confirmed the end of their marriage on his Instagram account. He disclosed that their marriage had been troubled, with a three-month separation leading to the eventual dissolution.
Despite their marriage troubles, Bello and Akindele have maintained a positive relationship, reconnecting on Instagram and showing support for each other. Bello even expressed condolences to Akindele when she announced her mother’s passing in February 2023.
They are committed to co-parenting their sons, demonstrating that they’ve managed to maintain an amicable relationship post-divorce.
