The megastar of Afrobeats Tiwa Savage announced her 2022 “Water & Garri” Tour in April. It started in June and lasted in August.
The North American portion of the tour began with her first performance on June 9, 2022, in Chicago. On June 21, 2022, the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, Canada, hosted the conclusion of the eight-city tour.
Tiwa Savage began the European portion of her “Water & Garri” tour on June 24 in Porto, Portugal, and continued on June 25 in Zurich, Switzerland, following a successful North American tour.
Tickets sold out at every stop on her tour of 11 nations and 13 cities throughout Europe. She sold out the 4,000-person Brixton Hall in London, the concluding leg of her wildly successful European tour.
A mind-blowing collection of Tiwa Savage’s classics from a career spanning more than ten years were performed for her adoring fans throughout the wildly successful tour.
What it means for the Industry: Tiwa Savage’s ‘Water & Garri’ tour’s success is a significant development for both Tiwa and Afrobeats.
It demonstrates that if they put in the effort, Nigerian artists, particularly female artists, can achieve success on a worldwide scale. Because of the success of the tour, up-and-coming female Afrobeats artists like Ayra Starr, Gyakie, and Fave will be inspired to take over for the Afrobeats Queen and advance the female side of the business.
