The Flash has been one of the most popular shows on The CW over the last decade. According to Variety, The Flash has been renewed for Season 9 ahead of schedule.

The renewal of The Flash should come as no surprise, despite some fans believing that the current season could have been the series’ final season. Grant Gustin, The Flash, inked a new one-year agreement for the programme in January for fifteen episodes, thereby ensuring a new season. Gustin has spoken about how much he enjoys playing this famous superhero throughout the years. As a result, as long as he wants to play the part, the programme will most likely be revived.

The first two seasons of The Flash are still regarded as some of the best superhero television ever made. For the first time, the series introduced numerous comic book concepts into live-action, such as the Reverse Flash, Gorilla Grodd, King Shark, the speed force, and The Flash’s tragic background. It was commended for its love, respect, and fidelity to the source material, while also introducing some interesting new components to the lore in its own right.

The current season began with the huge crossover event “Armageddon,” in which The Flash joined forces with Black Lightning, Mia Queen’s Green Arrow, and Batwoman to defeat both the Reverse Flash and the monstrous Despero. This month, the eighth season premiered with a future-focused episode starring The Flash’s children Impulse and XS. Given the renewal, it will be intriguing to see where the writers take the rest of the season.

It’s unclear whether Season 9 will be The Flash’s final season, but whatever the case may be, the show is now The CW’s third-longest running show.
