The long wait for the Stranger Things Season 4 has come to an end.
By Omotayo Olutekunbi
Fans have been waiting nearly three years to see Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Will (Noah Schnapp), and the rest of their adventure party in Hawkins, Indiana. In recent months, Netflix and the Stranger Things crew have attempted to alleviate the long break with a teaser trailer, four big posters, and some thrilling photographs from the next episodes. However, today’s teaser has finally provided us with our first full-fledged glimpse at the new season, in all its upside-down grandeur.
Our heroes have dispersed to the winds six months after the Battle of Starcourt, some for their own safety and others against their will. The adventurous group has been separated for the first time, and we find each of them attempting to go on with their lives, with varied degrees of success. Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) appears to be gaining fame as a basketball player, while Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Mike (Finn Wolfhard) have joined Hawkins High’s Hellfire Club, an advanced Dungeons & Dragons game. Will and Eleven are fighting to fit in all the way across the nation, while Max (Sadie Sink) is still dealing with her own sadness over Billy’s death.
We get a closer look at Hopper (David Harbour), who is being held in a Russian prison fighting for his life, Joyce (Winona Ryder), who is receiving a mysterious package from the other side of the world, and Steve (Joe Keery), Robin (Maya Hawke), and Nancy (Natalia Dyer) who are exploring unknown parts of Hawkins as the heart pounding strains of an epic trailer remix of Journey’s “Separate Ways” filter in In addition, the new teaser sets up an extremely wild struggle between The Upside Down and, well, the right side up. Dr. Owens (Paul Reiser) comes in California without a hint of deception to inform Eleven that a battle is on the way, and he doesn’t believe they can prevail without her.
Charlie Heaton, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, Cara Buono, and Matthew Modine, as well as horror veteran Robert Englund and a large supporting cast feature in this season. The Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy, and Nimród Antal will direct episodes for Season 4, while the Duffer Brothers, Caitlin Schneiderhan, Paul Dichter, Kate Trefry, and Curtis Gwinn will write them. Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 will be available on Netflix on May 27th, with Volume 2 following on July 1st.
