Universal Music Group’s Def Jam label division Signed Stonebwoy
By Omotayo Olutekunbi
The award-winning dancehall musician Livingston Satekla, better known as Stonebwoy, is the newest member of the Def Jam family. His new song, ‘Therapy,’ will be released tonight through Def Jam Recordings, 0207 Def Jam, and Def Jam Africa, with international support from UMG labels.
‘Therapy’ adds to his already famous career, which includes four albums, several hit songs, and movie appearances, not to mention his humanitarian efforts as part of the ‘Livingston Foundation,’ which educates and elevates Ghana’s children.
The track is the first from Stonebwoy’s freshly inked record contract with Def Jam, which is home to some of Africa’s greatest stars in hip-hop, Afrobeats, and trap music. It also acts as the lead single from Stonebwoy’s next album, which is slated to be released in mid-2022.
Meanwhile, Stonebwoy has been added to the record label with Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Nadia Nakai, and Tellaman.
