As 17 Southern governors gather in Lagos today, the re-arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPoB, and the recent attack on Yoruba freedom warrior Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho, are anticipated to top the agenda of the meeting.
The conference, which is a follow-up to the one conducted on 11th May in Asaba, Delta State, will also discuss and assess the state of the nation as it pertains to the geopolitical zones.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, stated that the forum will begin at 10 a.m. in the State House, Alausa, Ikeja, and will be hosted by Governor Sanwo-Olu.
The meeting is also scheduled to address instability, real federalism, open grazing, state police, restructuring, and food security, among other topics.
It will also discuss the status of the resolutions passed at the last meeting and set a course for the future.
The fundamental goal is to express common interest and reaffirm commitment to an unified Nigeria capable of ensuring equity, fairness, and justice in a truly federalist environment.
