Rema announced that his smash hit track “Calm Down” has received more than one billion streams across all platforms while performing in the UK on Monday, November 7th at the 02 Brixton Arena.
One of the main songs from Rema’s debut album, “Raves & Roses,” titled “Calm Down,” was made public on February 11th, 2022. The song continued to gain popularity and peaked at number five on TurnTable Top 100.
The song’s success is highlighted in the music video; only three months after its debut, it had amassed 100 million streams. On Spotify alone, it has had over 173 million streams, and Audiomack and Boomplay have each received millions of streams.
American pop diva Selena Gomez contributed a line to the song “Calm Down,” which led to an international remix and further boosted the song’s popularity. After the remix, Rema made his Billboard Hot 100 debut, reaching No. 74 and No. 16 on the UK Official Singles Chart, respectively. Additionally, the remix has had over 141 million Spotify listens.
The fact that “Calm Down” has amassed more than a billion streams across all platforms is hardly shocking given the song’s phenomenal success since its debut. Rema has also gone on tour, selling out venues in several nations and gaining followers thanks to his music.
