Prince Harry of Sussex paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, his late grandmother.

The Duke of Sussex recalled all the memorable experiences he shared with the late queen in a statement that was made public.

“In celebrating the life of my grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen — and in mourning her loss — we are all reminded of the guiding compass she was to so many in her commitment to service and duty,” he wrote.

“Granny, while this final parting brings us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all of our first meetings—from my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my commander-in-chief, to the first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren.”

“I cherish these times shared with you, and the many other special moments in between. You are already sorely missed.”

It is well known that Prince Harry and his grandmother had a unique bond.

Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was the girl’s given name after Harry and Meghan Markle delivered their second child in 2021.

Remember that Prince Harry and his bride Markle startled the world in January 2020 by announcing that they would be stepping down as senior members of the royal family?

On their official Instagram page in 2020, the couple broke the surprising news.

They would be leaving and relocating to North America, they said.
