Peaky Blinders’ sixth series trailer has been released. Season 6 will be the final installment of the action-packed and dramatic series, which premiered in 2013. The award-winning series, created by Steven Knight, first aired on the BBC before being picked up by Netflix. The official trailer will be a welcome gift for fans who have been waiting patiently for the sixth season to arrive after the pandemic hampered the show’s production significantly.
Peaky Blinders is a period drama set in 1919, following the end of World War I. It transports viewers to a country trying to get back on its feet. Soldiers are returning home from the war only to face a fresh battle for life as the economy struggles to recover and the devastating effects of combat stress begin to take hold. One of the returning troops is decorated Sergeant Major Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy), who inherits the Peaky Blinders, his family’s gang.
Tom Hardy, Anya Taylor-Joy, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Ian Peck, Finn Cole, Paul Anderson, Charlotte Riley, Natasha O’Keefe, Harry Kirton, and Sam Calflin star alongside Murphy and Wallis to round out the outstanding ensemble cast. Unfortunately, Helen McCrory, who played Thomas’ aunt Polly Gray, died of cancer this past year and will be much missed in the following season.
Many of our favorite characters appear in the newly released trailer. We also saw the facts of the political upheaval that dominated Season 5, as well as the Nazi party’s early growth.
