As the newest featured artist in its Up Next artist development program in Nigeria, Apple Music has named Afrobeats singer-songwriter Majeeed. On Wednesday, July 27, 2022, the news was announced.

Majeeed tells Apple Music in a speech about the launch that his music is an extension of who he is.

His music is rooted in Afrobeats and talks honestly about the realities of day-to-day living, designed to encourage, inspire, and heal. Majeeed was born and raised in Nigeria, where he must deal with the everyday realities of economic and social challenges.

Majeeed is a phenomenal songwriter who has collaborated with musicians like Tiwa Savage, Seyi Shay, and Zuchu, who have all praised his work.

Majeeed independently released his chart-topping single “Time” in 2021. A year later, he released his debut EP, “Bitter Sweet,” which is a six-track examination of a toxic relationship that conveys universal themes of disconnect and misunderstandings and is anchored by the dancefloor-oriented lead single, “Yawa No Dey End.”

Majeeed will appear on Nigeria’s Up Next playlist on Apple Music as the newest Up Next talent to be featured in that country. A diverse group of up-and-coming artists has been carefully chosen for the Up Next playlist by Apple Music editors from across the world.

Majeeed is now part of Apple Music’s expanding roster of Up Next Artists from Nigeria, which also includes Khaid, Ninety, Young Jonn, T.I. Blaze, Browny Pondis, Ajebo Hustlers, Jaido P, Wavy The Creator, and SGaWD.
