With the current state of affairs, the party says it is insensitive to continue holding its numerous rallies.

Due to the ongoing gasoline shortage in the nation, the All Progressives Congress, which is currently in power in Lagos State, has halted its general election campaigning.
This was stated by the party on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, in a statement by the state chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi.
Ojelabi said that the decision was made as a consequence of the status of the country, notably the lack of gasoline, in a statement released by the party.
Ojelabi expressed sympathy for the general populace, in particular the oppressed who are suffering as a result of the contentious monetary policy that has caused hardship for Nigerians.
He said that given the current circumstances, it would be callous for the party to continue holding its numerous rallies.
The statement reads in part, “Mr. Ojelabi said members of APC are not immune against the development as he has been inundated with several complaints.
“He joined his voice with those of other well-meaning Nigerians to call for the review of the Naira redesign policy to give it a human face and ameliorate the suffering of ordinary Nigerians. He equally appealed that petroleum products should be made available in order not to jeopardize the preparation for the elections and reduce the negative economic impact.
“He enjoined all Lagosians to remain law abiding as all issues are resolved in due course.”
In several regions of the country, economic activity has been slowed down by currency and gasoline shortages.
Nigerians in the southwest have been protesting the ongoing crises since last week.
