Ladun Awobokun has been appointed Chief Content Officer of Filmone Limited, a leading film production and distribution company in Nigeria.
In her previous role as General Manager, Ladun Awobokun was instrumental in helping major Hollywood studios, such as Walt Disney and Sony Pictures, secure exclusive distribution rights in Anglophone West Africa, establishing Filmone as the market leader with the largest market share in the area.
90% of the highest grossing Nollywood films, including “A Tribe Called Judah,” which was the first movie to earn more than N1 billion at the box office, “Wakanda Forever,” “Ajosepo,” and “King of Thieves,” have been distributed by Filmone under Ladun’s administration.
Ladun Awobokun, in her new position as Chief Content Officer, will be in charge of Filmone Limited’s creative direction and content strategy.
Making use of her passion for media production and narrative, she will be in charge of spearheading the creation of excellent, captivating content that appeals to viewers both domestically and internationally.
Her leadership and vision will play a critical role in upholding Filmone’s tradition of creating and releasing critically acclaimed films that bring Nollywood to a larger audience worldwide.
“I am honoured to take on this new challenge and continue working with the incredible team at Filmone. Together, we will push the boundaries of storytelling and create content that not only entertains but also inspires and connects with audiences around the world.” She said.
