Korean Dramas Worth Watching On Netflix 

The South Korean entertainment business is gradually gaining global prominence.

As Kpop, Korean films like Parasite and Minari, and Korean television shows sweep the globe by storm, the South Korean entertainment sector is progressively rising to global prominence.

The majority of these TV shows are based on webcomics, a type of storytelling that originated in South Korea and is comparable to comics. Regardless of the genre (with the exception of horror), you can expect a love story, and the same actors appear in almost all of them.

THE SILENT SEA

The Silent Sea is a science fiction horror series set in space that follows a crew as they visit an abandoned research facility where a tragedy occurred. The team enters Balhae station with the objective of retrieving significant samples that might lead to the manufacture of additional water, a very necessary and expensive resource today and in the future. You already know it’ll be fantastic because Bae Doona and Gong Yoo are headlining the cast. .

ALL OF US ARE DEAD

All of Us Are Dead is a zombie horror series based on Joo Dong-webtoon geun’s Now at Our School. It follows a group of high school kids who are caught in the center of a viral epidemic. After an accident results in the outbreak of a zombie virus at a South Korean high school, the kids are forced to fight for themselves, with the authorities cutting them off from the outside world. The children must rely on each other and any resources they can find to survive this hazardous predicament because they have no supplies and no way to get aid. While the program is largely a horror narrative, it also touches on a variety of societal themes.

HELLBOUND

How would people respond if enormous demons began thrashing people in the streets and openly “condemning” them to hell in front of everyone? Badly! Really, really terrible! Have you witnessed the human race’s history? That’s the idea of Hellbound, a dismal, extremely cruel investigation of faith and infectious societal frenzy that would fit well with Netflix’s other ponderous and terrifying 2021 tale of religion gone awry, Midnight Mass. Hellbound is a slower, more melancholy affair than Yeon Sang-smash ho’s Korean zombie film.

VINCENZO

Song Joong-ki stars as Vincenzo, a Korean guy who was adopted by an Italian family as a youngster and reared as part of a mafia family in Italy. Following his adoptive father’s death, Vincenzo’s biological son attempts to assassinate him, prompting him to flee to Seoul, South Korea, where he has a gold stockpile concealed beneath an old apartment building. Unfortunately, Vincenzo won’t be able to get to the gold unless he demolishes the structure, which houses a colony of people. At the same time, a crooked firm named Babel Group unlawfully takes over the building, forcing Vincenzo to link up with Hong Cha-young, played by Jeon Yeo-bin, a skilled and strong-willed lawyer who wants to bring down the organization for personal reasons.

LAW SCHOOL

Law School is a new Netflix series about a group of students and teachers at Hankuk University Law School. When a law professor is discovered murdered and former prosecutor and professor Yang Jong-Hoon (Kim Myung-min) is imprisoned, the other characters band together to discover the truth and defend Professor Yang’s innocence. Simultaneously, several other narratives are unfolding, such as a strange link between a top-tier student named Han Joon-hwi (Kim Bum) and the professor who is slain. Law School is a wonderful choice if you’re looking for a serious drama with a primary mystery.

IT’S OKAY TO NOT BE OKAY

It’s Okay to Not Be Okay is a contemporary romance drama that distinguishes out owing to its portrayal of an adult with autism. Moon Gang-tae, an orphaned young man who works as a caretaker at a psychiatric institution, is played by Kim Soo-hyun. He spends the most of his time caring for his autistic older brother, Moon Sang-tae (Oh Jung-se). Since Sang-tae saw their mother’s death years ago, the two brothers have led a lonely existence, continuously traveling about. Gang-tae encounters Ko Moon-young (Seo Ye-ji), an antisocial personality disorder-afflicted children’s novelist, one day. Moon-young develops a slight fascination with Gang-tae after discovering that the two had previously crossed paths. He follows him around. Moon-young, Gang-tae, and Sang-tae begin to speak up about their trauma as they spend more time together. The series has a basic romantic plot, yet it shines because of Sang-characterization tae’s and relationship with his brother.

SWEET HOME

Sweet Home is an explosive, exhilarating apocalyptic horror thriller about creatures aiming to kill everyone and take over the planet, based on the webtoon of the same name. I mean, what’s the big deal? Song Kang, who normally appears in romance dramas, makes a rare appearance in a horror program (which you will see later on in this list). After his parents are murdered in a car accident, Kang portrays Cha Hyun-soo, a distraught high school student who moves into an apartment by himself. Unbeknownst to Hyun-soo and the other occupants, their apartment building is really the headquarters for a monstrous species vying for world dominance.
