Nigerian star Tems is set to receive an RIAA gold certification for her single ‘Free Mind’.

Tems’ “Free Mind” is eligible for a Gold Certification haven sold 500,000 copies in the United States, according to information shared by chart news portal @Chartdata on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, via their Twitter account.
After receiving platinum awards for his collaborations with Future’s “Wait For U” and Wizkid’s “Essence,” Tems will get certified for the first time on his own.
One of the tracks from Tems’ “If Orange was a Place” EP, “Free Mind,” which was released in 2020, has done well in the US, spending 14 weeks and reaching at Number 46 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Tems is the fifth Afrobeats musician to receive a solo RIAA certification, following CKay, Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid.
The RIAA has awarded Davido’s “Fall” and Burna Boy’s “YE” gold certification, while CKay’s “Love Nwantiti” and Wizkid’s “Essence” have received X2 platinum certification.
