Beyond the party line, the Nigerian Youth and Diaspora Forum for Bola Ahmed Tinubu E-Campaign (NYD4BAT) claims it plans to mobilise five million youths for the presidential desire of All Progressives Congress contender, Sen. Bola Tinubu.
News Agency of Nigeria
Mr Tito Philips, the Chairman of NYD4BAT, identified Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, as the ideal material for the presidency of Nigeria in 2023, speaking during the organization’s opening on Wednesday in Lagos.
Tinubu’s political agility and contributions during Nigeria’s 23-year democracy, according to Philips, have pleased the millennials.
The body, according to the young leader, is a voluntary campaign support group comprised of Nigerian youths both at home and overseas.
He stated that the goal of NYD4BAT was to organise Nigerian youths both at home and abroad into a powerful political force for good governance in Nigeria.
He stated that the forum will campaign for Tinubu using a well-defined philosophy and vision free of harsh politics.
He said: “NYD4BAT is poised to engage Nigerian youths on the state of the nation during electioneering campaign for positive attitudes devoid of violence.
“We are poised to garner five million votes for Tinubu’s presidential aspiration through a responsible campaign both on and offline by reaching out to other critical stakeholders.
“The group will deploy adequately the social media platform, including Facebook, Twitter, among others to reach the Nigerian youths through entertainment, sports, technology, fashion and business incubation/training programmes to engage the youth for Tinubu’s presidential aspiration.”
Regarding Tinubu’s selection for the country’s highest office, Philips stated that he was the only Nigerian who epitomised the type of democracy that the country need.
He went on to say that if citizens are to reach the promised land, they must have performance-based democracy.
Only Tinubu, he claims, would provide results for Nigerians.
“Politicians are famous for their campaign promises that never become reality. Our people are tired of being deceived by politicians with little or no track record.
“They want results. And what better way to judge a person’s ability to deliver the results you want, other than previous results achieved.
“Of all the perceived reservations about BAT, his irrefutable results, most notably in Lagos State is never contested.
“Not only has he laid the master plan on which Lagos has been running successfully for the past 23 years, making it the 5th economy in Africa.
“He is an excellent leader who also recommends the right people for office,” he said.
In addition, Mr Ajibola Patrick, the group’s chairman in Nigeria, stated.“Nigerian youths can no longer sit akimbo and watch helplessly the troubles the country was going through.”
Patrick stated that Tinubu was in the greatest position to save Nigeria at this point in time, noting that the former governor had made significant contributions to the growth of Lagos State and Nigeria in general.
Mr Adeniyi Sanusi, Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora in Romania, stated that Tinubu’s contributions to the growth of Lagos and Nigeria were obvious.
He stated that as the 2023 general elections approach, Nigerians in Diaspora should consider themselves assets back home.
According to him, Nigerians in Diaspora have the ability to influence others via attractiveness.
“We can still add value back to Nigeria and contribute to the development of Nigeria by raising our voice,” he added.
